CREATIVE students from a Bradford free school have turned designers to help boost the product lines of a Bradford shop.

A group of 60 students, aged 11 and 12, from One in a Million, Cliffe Terrace, Bradford, were asked to come up with ideas and footwear designs to add to the range at Bombay Stores, Shearbridge Road, Bradford.

Ideas included customer seating, store layout, special offers, online adverts and designs for teenage casual pump shoes.

A dozen of these suggestions were presented to Saleem Kader, managing director at Bombay Stores, on June 30. They will now be mulled over by the company's board of directors to see if they can be taken further.

This project is part of 'Unlocking Talent and Potential' , a school improvement programme scheme and this project was one of 50 happening across the UK.

School principal Jez Stockill said: "The young people have really embraced it.

"This scheme has also helped to develop their employability skills."
