A mother and her daughters had a lucky escape after a road collision near where they were walking.
Lisa Ledger and her daughters Samantha, seven, and Abigail, two, were on Keighley Road, Skipton, near Skipton Hospital, heading towards the town centre.
Mrs Ledger said a Porsche travelling in the same direction and a van coming in the opposite direction collided.
Mrs Ledger said she did not see or hear the van brake and believed the driver may have deliberately forced the collision to stop the other car reaching them.
She said she thought the driver's name was Steve Wilson.
"I want him to realise that he did actually save our lives and I'd like to thank him for it," she added.
The accident occurred just before 9am on Wednesday.
A police spokesman said there had been a head-on collision between a silver Porsche and a white Transit van.
