A school has asked for a new pedestrian crossing.
Fears about the existing crossing in Main Street, outside Pool C of E Primary School, reached new heights last year after the lollipop lady's sign was knocked out of her hand by a passing van.
Now the school has asked highways officers to look into the feasibility of creating a new crossing on Arthington Lane.
Head teacher Roger Bumby said: "I am very concerned about the safety of the pupils coming and going from the school."
