The cause of a blaze which engulfed ten stables killing one horse was under investigation last night.

Fire crews from Morley, Batley and Cleckheaton were called to a fire at Island Farm on Warrens Lane at 11pm on Sunday.

There were thought to be eight horses at the stables at the time of the fire, and seven survived.

Fire crews spent three hours fighting the flames.

The fire is thought to have spread to the stables from a nearby caravan. It is not yet known how it started.
