A three peaks charity walk organised by a teacher has raised almost £3,800 for charity.

Jim Barnett, who teaches at Baildon CE Primary School, usually walks the Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks every year with friends, but this summer many first timers also took an interest so the trip became a charity event in aid of the NSPCC and Age UK.

The Sixth Annual Yorkshire Dales Fellbagging Classic Baht’at title was adopted and in total 33 people signed up for the event.

They were grouped according to the time they expected to complete the 26-mile course, taking in the three most famous fells in the county.

Despite bad weather, all finished the course and with a combination of sponsorship raised through school staffrooms and workplaces, along with donations from Santander and DHL, raised £3,798.
