Five children and five adults were taken to hospital after being rescued from a dawn blaze at a house in Manningham early this morning.

Five firecrews from Fairweather Green, Bradford, Idle and Shipley attended the burning terraced house which threatened to ignite adjoining properties in Westfield Road near Toller Lane.

Eight other houses were searched and several suffered smoke damage from the fire which was reported just after 6am.

The ten people were taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary for check-ups.
