Former supermarket supremo Sir Ken Morrison and family have dropped two places in the Sunday Times Rich List 2014.
Their fortune has fallen by £105 million to £900 million and they have slumped from 82rd in the national ranking last year to 110th place.
In contrast, the owners of Apperley Bridge-based motors group JCT600 have climbed one place in the list of Yorkshire’s 20 richest people.
JCT 600 founder Jack Tordoff and family are listed in ninth place in the regional top 20 league table with a fortune of £353 million – up by £23 million on last year. They are placed 272nd in the national listing.
Property and investment entrepreneur Alan Lewis, whose Leeds-based Hartley Property Group includes several former textile mills and business parks in Bradford, is Yorkshire’s 12th richest man. The former owner of Illingworth Morris , once the world’s largest wool textile manufacturer based at Salts Mill, saw his wealth increase by £10 million to £270 million. He is 345th in the national league table.
