There are still some places up for grabs on a weight management course for overweight children.

Children aged five to 11 can be enrolled in the free programme, which starts on Wednesday.

The course is being run by Bradford Council’s health improvement team at Newby Primary School, West Bowling, Bradford, and children taking part must be accompanied by a parent or carer.

Carolyn Ignaciuk, of the health improvement team, said: “This is a great chance for parents or carers who are concerned about their child’s weight.

“The programme is about empowering children and their parents by giving them the knowledge to make the right lifestyle choices.”
