Staff at Co-operative stores in Bradford have raised more than £11,000 for Carers Trust, the UK’s largest charity for carers.
Stores across the city liaised with one another through a range of events and collections spreading throughout last year and when the cash was counted, the sum of £11,167 was clocked in.
The year-long, UK-wide partnership sees that young carers across the nation are supported both financially and mentally in their responsibilities as carers and has over its entirety raised £6m for the charity.
Steff Martin, Regional Operations Manager for The Co-operative Food in Bradford, said: “Our customers’ donations will make a real tangible difference to the lives of young carers.”
The Bingley store secured most for the charity at £4,935.
