Ramblers were able to meander among the flowers at a Bradford nature reserve.

Volunteer Harry Allenby took visitors to the Denso Marston Nature Reserve, off Otley Road, Charlestown, Baildon, on a two-hour walk during which 80 species of flower were identified. Among the blooms were English bluebells and ivy leaf speedwells.

Visitors were also treated to the sight of kingfishers and the first swallows of the summer at the seven-acre site which is home to roe deer and foxes.

Warden Steve Warrillow said: β€œIt has been a good day and we have seen quantity as well as quality.”
