Bradford Council has refused to provide a “certificate of lawful use” for a takeaway in Manningham.
Jameel Aziz had applied for a certificate, which would allow the business at 43-45 Carlisle Road to re-open as a takeaway. To do so he needed to provide proof that the business had been operating as a takeaway for the past ten years.
Mr Aziz said the business had closed in 2003/04 but council tax records showed it was recorded as an empty shop since then.
Planning officers refused to grant the certificate.
