Regional and European treats will be showcased as part of a Food and Drink Festival in Bingley this Easter weekend.
The town square will be taken over by a food and drinks market with cookery demonstrations from Jamie’s Ministry of Food, which will run from 9am until 5pm tomorrow and Saturday, and from 10am until 4pm on Easter Sunday.
There will be stalls offering a whole host of gastronomic delights to either eat on the day or take home to cook, including cheese, pickles and relishes, honey and jam, pork pies and baked goods, buffalo burgers as well as Spanish cooking and produce from local restaurant El Caballo Blanco. The beer tent, which is being run by Bingley pub The Library Tap, will open from noon until midnight with a programme of live music to keep people entertained over the whole weekend.
The Bradford Council-organised event will also have small rides, a climbing wall and Easter-themed entertainment for children.
The Council’s town centre manager for Bingley, Bob Parker, said: "Bingley has always had a good reputation for good quality food and drink and we hope that this great event will help to showcase what the town has to offer. We are delighted that more local businesses are getting involved.
