The University of Bradford is hosting a lecture on Wednesday, looking at the development and risk factors for obesity.
Psychology lecturer at the university, Dr Eleanor Bryant, will be joined by Professor Barbara Stewart-Knox, also from the University of Bradford, and Professor Stanley Ulijaszek, from the University of Oxford, to discuss adult and child obesity, what causes it and what can we do about it.
The lecture will look at obesity in infancy, including infant feeding behaviour, some of the psychological and biological risk factors for obesity in adults, psychological eating behaviour traits and global nutritional anthropology.
Dr Bryant said: “This is a great opportunity to see three experts bring a unique view on the current obesity epidemic across the world.
“Each is known internationally for the research they carry out, so this should make a very interesting talk for all. We hope it will open debate and be a step to tackling this issue.”
The lecture takes place in the Norcroft Centre at the University of Bradford at 6pm. Visit www.brad.ac.uk/community-partnerships/events/obesity.php.
