Two armed and masked men broke into a house and set about a father and son inside, in what police believe was a targeted attack.
The father, 43, had to have hospital treatment for cuts to his back and shoulder, while his son,18, was left with a slight cut to his forearm, after the attack at Heaton Park Drive, Heaton, Bradford, on Wednesday.
Detectives said the masked attackers, described as Asian, had gone armed with a weapon.
They broke into the house at about 6.30pm and escaped in a dark-coloured Vauxhall Vectra, which was driven towards Heaton Road.
Police are now appealing for witnesses, or anyone who saw the getaway car, believed to have an ‘04’ registration plate.
Detective Inspector Stuart Lyons, of Bradford District CID, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who might have witnessed this vehicle arriving or leaving the scene of the incident.”
Four men, aged 35, 30, 27 and 23, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and have been released on police bail.
