A couple are drumming up support for a girl with a rare condition.
Steve Janetta and partner Marina Waymouth are walking 100 miles around West Yorkshire – playing a drum.
Their effort is to back nine-year-old Bingley girl Grace Hitchens, who has a life-limiting neurodegenerative condition, Niemann Pick Type C, and raise funds for her charities, Niemann Pick UK and Martin House Hospice.
Mr Janetta, a drumming teacher in Baildon, said: “I heard about Grace’s condition through her aunt, whom I teach.
“It is heartbreaking to see the illness taking hold of Grace, but we are also incredibly moved by the courage she and her family show every day. Our aim is to raise £10,000 for the charities, which have provided tremendous support to the family.”
