Budding brass band members from Otley have received tuition from some of the world’s best players.

Members of Wharfe Brass, Otley Brass Band’s development group, enjoyed master classes at the Nell Bank outdoor activity centre in Ilkley.

The children also took part in outdoor adventure team-building exercises and a conducting competition was won by Andrew Straighton, a sixth-former at Prince Henry's Grammar School.

The band, under the direction of Gordon Eddison, gave a farewell concert in the centre’s open air theatre for family and friends.

Otley Brass Band member Anne Ridgway said: “It was a brilliant weekend enjoyed in the stunning facilities at Nell Bank.”
