Flower power will brighten Mother’s Day when almost 200 bunches of daffodils are donated to church services.
Gill Harney, manager of The Co-operative Memorials in Nab Wood, Shipley, has given 170 bunches of the flowers, which she has hand-tied with ribbons.
They will be handed out at tomorrow’s Mother’s Day services at All Saints Parish Church, Bingley, and its daughter church, St Aidan’s, in Crossflatts.
The Co-operative branch does a lot of work in the community and this year is focusing on churches, said Mrs Harney.
“I think it will be lovely. It’s saved the church quite a lot of money and it’s saving them time because they do this for themselves every year but this year I’ve got all the flowers and tied them with ribbons,” she said.
“The funds it is saving can go to other areas.”
