Businesswomen will make sure they are not baht ‘at when they gather on Ilkley Moor tomorrow.
Yorkshire brain tumour charities and their supporters will join female business owners on the moor, wearing hats to raise awareness of brain tumours, the biggest cancer killer of the under-40s.
Heather Othick founded one of the charities – Ellie’s Fund – in memory of daughter Ellie, who died of a brain tumour at 14 in 2010.
She said: “Wear A Hat Day is a fun campaign. Less than one per cent of cancer research funding goes to brain tumours so prognosis is no different now than it was 20 years ago.”
