Bradford Council is inviting groups to apply for money to host cultural activities in support of the Tour de France.
It has been announced today that organisations can apply for between £500 and £1,000.
The funding announcement coincides with the Yorkshire Festival 2014 as the official 100-day countdown begins for the Tour de France.
The Yorkshire Festival is the first ever festival to precede the Tour de France in its 111 year history and to mark its start, Bradford's City Park fountains and City Hall clocktower will be turning yellow.
Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, Executive Member for Culture and Tourism, said: "We feel there is a lot of cultural talent in our district and we want as many people as possible to feel involved in this once-in-a-lifetime event.
"We have therefore put this programme in place in which people can bid for a sum of money between £500 and £1,000 that will enable them to organise a cultural activity on their own doorstep."
The application period runs from Monday, March 31, to Wednesday, April 23.
People need to email Bobsie Robinson, the council's policy and strategy manager, with their proposal and how much they would like to apply for at bobsie.robinson@bradford.gov.uk.
