A Women’s Institute that has been running for more than half a century has documented a year in the life of its village for future generations.
Harden WI celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012 and during the year of celebration recorded local life in a book including news stories, photos of events and adverts for local businesses.
Fifty years earlier the group had done a similar project, putting together a scrapbook of Harden in the early 1960s.
The current WI put the new book together using modern methods, such as taking photographs with iPhones.
Two books have been created – one will be kept by the group and one has now been presented to Bradford Central Library.
A group spokesman said: “We feel we have, with the aid of residents and to the best of our ability, reflected life in our village in 2012.”
