Nursery teacher and Guide leader Anne Argall has died at the age of 57.

Anne was a central figure in the life of Laycock, Keighley, serving for many years on the Village Hall committee.

She was a deacon at Keighley New Church, based in Laycock, as well as being involved with the village Brownies, Rainbows and playgroup.

Anne was born in Singapore in 1956, moving to the UK four years later and growing up in Bradford.

She met her Australian husband in 1974 through speedway, where he was a rider and she a cheerleader, and they went on to have three children, Emma, Marie and Luke.

Anne spent many years as a nursery nurse, at Strong Close Nursery and Glusburn Primary School, then at the age of 50 requalified as a nursery teacher, working at Strong Close and schools in Bradford.

Luke described his mother as a very caring person who always had time for anyone.

He said: “She was always smiling, always bubbly, and always had something going on.”
