A Bradford academy welcomed a visitor from its partner school in Mozambique.
Armando Licoze, who is director of Oasis Mozambique, spoke to pupils at Oasis Academy Lister Park.
He told them about the work Oasis does in Beria, Mozambique, including working with 96 ‘mother leaders’ on issues such as the WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) project, community training, anti-trafficking and kids’ clubs.
Mr Licoze said: “I am here in Lister Park Academy to build sustainable global partnership that establishes mutually-beneficial spiritual, cultural and environmental learning opportunities and experiences.
“In assemblies I generate interest in students on the work Oasis is doing to help local communities thrive, and how people that are exploited are restored and included in supportive communities.”
One Oasis Academy student said: “Listening to the problems the people in Mozambique have to deal with really puts my worries into perspective.”
