A vision for Yeadon Tarn will be considered by the public later this month.

Otley and Yeadon councillor Ryk Downes has organised a meeting to find out what people want.

Those who use the tarn have been invited and Leeds City Council officials will also attend.

The meeting will be held in The Wharfedale Room of Yeadon Town Hall at 7pm on Thursday, March 20.

Coun Ryk Downes said: “Yeadon Tarn plays host to over a million visitors a year.

“Many have said that while it is a beautiful destination, it could offer more.”

Otley and Yeadon councillor Colin Campbell said: “Over the years we have managed to find funding for new toilets, improvements to the fish-breeding area and picnic areas.”

Fellow ward councillor Sandy Lay said: “Yeadon Tarn is the jewel in Yeadon's crown and is used by residents from near and far. It is for this reason it needs more investment.”
