A West Yorkshire-based charity has brought a TV newsreader on board to boost an awareness appeal.
He has recorded a three-minute appeal which will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Sunday, March 2.
It is hoped the appeal will raise awareness of epilepsy and encourage listeners to donate to the charity to help it continue its work.
Epilepsy Action works to improve the lives of the 600,000 people living with epilepsy in the UK.
More usually seen reporting from war zones across the world, Alex will be talking about his own personal experience of living with epilepsy
. One of his sons is affected by the condition and had his first seizure when just a baby.
Alex supports Epilepsy Action as he used their helpline and website at the time as a source of support and advice.
He said: “It was an honour to lend my voice to the appeal.”
