An elderly man was taken to hospital after being robbed at his home in Eccleshill.

The 75-year-old answered his door to a man who entered the property, hit the victim and stole his wallet which had cash in it.

It happened on Highfield Grove between 6pm and 7pm yesterday.

The victim was taken to hospital as a precaution but was later released.

His attacker was white, about 5ft 8ins tall, and stocky. He was wearing a black duffle jacket and a black cap.

Det Insp Neil Benstead, of Bradford District CID, said: “This was a heartless attack on an elderly man and I am appealing for anyone with information to contact police at Bradford on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
