Miss North Yorkshire Galaxy Laura Handy
A girl whose grandparents live in Keighley has been crowned Miss North Yorkshire Galaxy.
Laura Handy spent much of her time as a child with grandparents Ngaire and Kevin Parker in Exley Head.
Now living in Settle, 19-year-old Laura will compete for the title of Miss Galaxy UK in March.
Success will see her travel to the USA to compete in the Miss Galaxy International Pageant in Orlando.
Laura, whose mother used to work at Wilsden Health Centre and Airedale Hospital, attends Settle College sixth form. As part of her Miss Galaxy year she has been raising money for the Christie Cancer Charity.
