Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Awards screenings for work of Bradford University-trained animators Awards screenings for work of Bradford University-trained animators

Films by two Bradford University- trained animators are to feature in the British Animation Awards Public Choice screenings.

The films both feature in the first of three separate programmes to be screened at the National Media Museum on January 25 and February 1 and 7.

Brave New Old, directed by Adam Wells, is described as a “striking and modern CG film showcasing everyday scenarios set in surreal circumstances”.

Aardman director Steve Harding-Hill’s Under the Oak Tree (pictured) traces the history of Swedish bank Swedbank since 1820, following the stories of two characters, a humble squirrel who plants an acorn then faithfully watches his investment grow, and a noisy duck who spends his money as quickly as he gets it. The British Animation Awards are the most prestigious awards in animation. Past winners include Wallace and Gromit creator Nick Park.
