Two people have been fined a total of £1,600 for dumping rubbish in the Spen Valley.
Joga Singh Bahgota, of Broad Lane, Bramley, and Michael Allwood of Ring Road, Seacroft, were handed the fines by Kirklees magistrates.
Bahgota allowed Allwood to work on his business without making sure the waste collected was disposed of correctly, which resulted in it being fly-tipped on Primrose Lane, Liversedge.
Allwood was employed by Bahgota to carry out renovation work on his shop and allowed a third party to remove the waste without getting waste transfer documents.
He pleaded guilty and was fined £1,000, plus a £100 victim surcharge. He was also ordered to pay £950 costs, to include £200 towards the cost of clearance.
