Otley woman's hope for Miss Galaxy final

A former Prince Henry’s School pupil has won a place in the final of Miss Galaxy England 2014.

Alexandra Homayoonpoor, 24, of Otley, won the title of Miss West Yorkshire 2013 and has now been selected as Miss Yorkshire Dales Galaxy 2014.

Sponsored by Bliss Beauty Spa and Aire Vocational Training Ltd, Alexandra will compete in the grand final in March with girls from all over the country.

Alexandra has a bachelor’s degree in journalism studies from the University of Sheffield, a master’s degree in advertising and marketing from the University of Leeds and now works as an account executive at Hatch Communications in Otley.

Alexandra said: “I’m extremely proud of myself for having won another title. Competing in pageants is not only a fun and glamorous experience in which you get to represent your region, it’s also a brilliant chance to inspire others and do charity work.”

The final will be held in March at Park Hall Hotel, Lancashire. The winner of Miss Galaxy England will travel to the USA, to compete in the Miss Galaxy International final, which will be held there in the summer.
