Crisis talks which could determine the ownership of Bradford Bulls were resuming today as it was revealed that club chairman Mark Moore resigned as a director of the club almost three weeks ago.
A document filed at Companies House on Monday shows the Bedzrus owner’s appointment as director of OK Bulls Limited was terminated on Friday, December 20 – four days before he and fellow directors Ian Watt and Andrew Calvert announced on Christmas Eve they were to stand down .
On Monday, December 30, the trio then went on to reveal in a statement that they would continue to “direct” the business after a meeting was held with the RFL and majority shareholder Omar Khan in a bid to resolve a dispute over a transfer of shares.
Those talks, described as “constructive”, were expected to resume today and a statement from the club is expected after the meeting.
As the Telegraph & Argus reported yesterday, paperwork surrounding Mr Moore’s directorship was received by Companies House on Monday, although the details were not available to view.
The document became available yesterday and gives his ‘termination date’ as December 20.
It is understood that Mr Moore will not be present at today’s meeting but is still involved in running the club.
His decision to stand down as a director is thought to be linked to the legal action being taken against him and former general manager Ryan Whitcut by Mr Khan.
The dispute centres on Mr Khan’s refusal to transfer his stake in the club, claiming Mr Moore and former director Mr Whitcut have not paid him an agreed undisclosed sum for the sale of the business.
Mr Moore and Mr Watt and Mr Calvert – who later joined as investors – say they found “massive holes” in the club’s finances.
The RFL has been working with all parties to resolve the issue.
Mr Moore last night said he was not able to comment, while the club – when asked a number of questions about Mr Moore’s role – repeated its previous statement: “Bradford Bulls cannot comment at this time as external communication may harm the productive, ongoing discussion between all parties.”
A ‘current appointments record’ at Companies House shows Mr Calvert and Mr Watt are the directors of OK Bulls Limited.
