A cat that was stuck up a tree ran further up it when firefighters tried to rescue it in Bradford yesterday. Firefighters from Fairweather Green station were called to Bonn Road at 4pm by the RSPCA. A spokesman for the station said the cat climbed higher up after crews pitched a ladder on the tree. He added: “It went to about 35ft up.” The fire crews returned to station and left the RSPCA to monitor the situation overnight.
