A Brontë Christmas is planned for Haworth.

The Bronte Parsonage Museum is holding a series of events celebrating Victoriana and the festive season.

“Christmas is a special time at the Parsonage,” says executive director Ann Sumner.

“We hope visitors will enjoy the experience, culminating in our 120th birthday celebrations on December 16.

"We have planned the first ever Brontë carol service to which all are welcome and at which we will be paying tribute to Emily Brontë in particular, who died just before Christmas on December 19.”

This weekend sees Haworth’s Steampunk Weekend, and at the Parsonage storyteller Adam Sargent will retell stories by the Brothers Grimm as you’ve never heard them before, on Saturday from 2 - 4pm.

On November 30 and December 1 festive fairies return to the Parsonage for Haworth’s Fairy Weekend. Find out more from Tabby, the Brontës’ servant, and listen to an intriguing talk about the Victorian fascination with all things faerie.

There’s also chance to make your own fairy tree decoration, find out about fairies in folklore and art, and listen to music from the Festival Brass Quintet.

The Parsonage’s Victorian Weekend takes place from December 6 - 8, when Charles Dickens himself will be dropping by for carols and a candlelit tour of the house.

The family Visitorian Christmas Day features a Brontë puppet theatre, carols around the tree, a chance to meet Jackie Kay, writer-in-residence at the Parsonage, hear Haworth Primary School youngsters sing in the garden and enjoy the first Brontë carol service at Haworth parish church of St Michael and All Angels.
