Soroptimists in the district will continue to tackle violence against women as part of an international day recognised by the United Nations. Soroptimist International of Ilkley will join women’s groups and organisations across the world in marking International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, on November 25.
Ilkley club members will have a display stand at the entrance to Ilkley Railway Station, to provide contact details of the free helpline. On the same day, 20 members in Ilkley will be trained in techniques to help them stay safe in difficult situations.
