A husband and wife believed to be the oldest married couple in the UK celebrated turning a year older this weekend.
Kartari and Karam Chand held a birthday party on Saturday to mark their 101st and 108th birthdays.
People came from all over the world to celebrate with the incredible couple, who have applied to Guinness World Records to see if they have the longest marriage in the world.
The Chands held the party at their Girlington, Bradford, home, and their son Dr Sodhi Ram and his family flew in from India for the party.
Another of their children, Paul Chand, said: “They really enjoyed the party. Everybody asks how they keep healthy and my answer is that for the last 20 years we have given them a stress-free life.”
Mr and Mrs Chand were teenagers when they were introduced in India.
This year they celebrated their 87th wedding anniversary after settling in Bradford more than 40 years ago They have eight children, 27 grandchildren and more than ten great grandchildren.
