Sales boost for former student's e-book
A former Ilkley Grammar School student’s first fantasy novel is selling fast online as an e-book.
Joe Louis Walker’s book, Ethriel: Blood Bonds, made 500 sales within two weeks of going on sale for download on website Amazon.
The book is aimed at young teens.
Mr Walker, 21, is currently travelling around the world with his wife. The couple spent 2012 teaching English in Beijing, China, and hope to return in a few months’ time.
He says he has always had an interest in writing since he was young, inspired by the works of JRR Tolkien, JK Rowling and George RR Martin.
Mr Walker says he is currently working on a sequel to his book, as it is eventually to be a trilogy.
