Police called to an aggravated burglary in Bradford ended their search for the suspect following an armed incident at a block of flats.
Officers were called to Park Road in the Low Moor area of the city at 2.54pm yesterday.
A car, believed to be linked to that incident, was then seen in Huddersfield at around 3.30pm.
Police think it was abandoned in Chesil Bank, Quarmby. Following a number of extensive searches by armed officers, a 24-year-old man was arrested from a nearby block of flats at around 7.30pm.
A police spokesman said: “Investigations into the incident are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact Huddersfield CID on101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
