An air rifle was fired at a commercial premises in Bradford yesterday.

Police were called at 5.30pm after a member of the public reported seeing a gun in a vehicle on Killinghall Road.

It was fired at a premises on the same road shortly afterwards.

The police helicopter and armed officers joined forces to search the area.

Chief Superintendent Angela Williams, divisional commander for the Airedale and North Bradford division, said: “We believe this was an air rifle loaded with air pellets, but that does not mean that we could not take the report seriously.

“We have had various calls about this incident and it has understandably brought distress to people going about their daily business.

“We are still looking for the people involved and any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101.”
