The two Bradford Theatres venues – the Alhambra theatre and St George’s Hall – are taking part in a campaign searching for the nation’s most welcoming venue.
The My Theatre Matters! Most Welcoming Theatre Award, in association with Classic FM, is searching for the theatre that makes its audiences feel most at home. The campaign aimed at galvanising public support for theatres is in response to pressures on local government funding. It is led jointly by Equity, The Stage and the TMA. More than 225 arts venues are asking the public to vote for them and the result will be announced at the annual UK Theatre Awards ceremony in London on Sunday, October 20. Online voting, at classicfm.com/theatre, is open until midnight on Monday, September 30.
