The 70th anniversary of the Dambusters raid in Germany will be marked by a special fundraising concert in Otley.
The local Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal show will be hosted at Prince Henry’s Grammar School at 7.30pm on Saturday, October 26.
The 2013 concert, performed by the Brass Ensemble of the RAF Military College, has been titled a Salute to the Dambusters in memory of the members of the Royal Air Force’s No 617 Squadron who took part in those infamously dangerous ‘bouncing bomb’ attacks of 1943.
Special guests on the night will include some visiting Chelsea Pensioners and local MPs, councillors and other dignitaries.
The Poppy Appeal concert has been organised by Irene Willis, of Guiseley.
Tickets cost £12.50 and can be booked by calling (01943) 872148 or 467199.
