A motorcyclist caught doing 87mph on the A65 Clapham bypass has been ordered to pay a total of £503 in fines and costs by Skipton magistrates.
Richard Sprogis, 34, activated a police safety camera while riding his Yamaha YZF R6 at 11.20am on July 14 on the 60mph road, the court heard yesterday.
Sprogis, of Prospect Street, Shipley, who admitted speeding by letter to court, said it was a momentary error and he had been accelerating to overtake at the time.
Magistrates fined him £380, endorsed his licence with five penalty points and ordered him to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £38.
