More than a dozen young riders went along to the first Cycle Keighley session.
Among the 13 youngsters honing their cycling skills were two who were still riding bikes on stabilisers.
Head coach Richard Taylor said that by the end of the Saturday morning session, one of the beginners was riding on only two wheels.
He said: “Riders came from all areas of Keighley and were aged between six and 13 years old.”
Classes will run every Saturday from 9.30am to 11am at University Academy Keighley, on Greenhead Road, for those aged five to 16.
The classes are the first phase of the new Cycle Keighley campaign which aims to get people of all ages riding cycles on local roads.
The Saturday club will develop into family sessions with groups taking part in gentle rides on minor roads or the canal towpath.
