A planned skydive over Bridlington tomorrow will be a family affair for a woman who lives and works in Denholme.
Liz Beaumont, of Longhouse Lane, will take the plunge along with her two sons, her brother, nephew and niece.
Six friends of the family will also take part.
Mrs Beaumont, who works in the Denholme Co-op store, is being sponsored to raise money for the Denholme Shared Church windows appeal. She has been involved with the church for 30 years.
She said her family members will be raising cash to support medical research into a variety of serious illnesses, including cancer. Her husband, Peter Beaumont, died of a heart attack last Christmas after suffering from lung cancer.
She said: “I’m looking forward to it. I’ve got a good number of people sponsoring me and the support from Co-op customers has been brilliant.”
