A man who killed Gary Colley in Florida 20 years ago is hoping to be freed.
Aundra Akins was 14 when he fired the bullet that killed 34-year-old Mr Colley, at Tallahassee, on September 14, 1993.
Mr Colley, of Wilsden, and his girlfriend Margaret Jagger, then 35, were parked up in a lay-by during a holiday when Akins fired shots into the car during a bungled robbery.
Miss Jagger was shot in the arm and chest, but managed to scramble to safety. Mr Colley was shot dead.
Miss Jagger, who still lives in the Bradford district, was today giving evidence to a court in Monticello, Florida.
Akins, now 34, is due to be re-sentenced after an appeal court recently ruled he could not be sentenced to life imprisonment because of his age at the time.
