Community stalwarts who have dedicated their lives to helping others will receive their British Empire Medals from the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Dr Ingrid Roscoe this month.
Sheila Bamford, from Keighley, was honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for her services to social inclusion in West Yorkshire along with table tennis coach Hans Soova, from Bingley who set up the Oakbank Table Tennis Club at Oakbank School where he regularly coaches, and Frank Wright who works tirelessly for the benefit of the community, and local charities, in his home village of Mirfield.
