Otley residents are to be consulted over a £80,000 flood defence improvement scheme.
Leeds City Council is proposing to repair a collapsing culvert under the road by Otley Bridge, clear river debris and rebuild the headwall at Wharfemeadows Park.
The plan follows the discovery of the badly collapsing culvert, running under Billams Hill, by the council’s underwater inspections team earlier this year and other structural damage caused by previous flooding.
The consultation will begin on Monday and run for two months.
Councillor Sandy Lay (Lib Dem, Otley & Yeadon) said: “I am pleased that we will be consulting with residents. The strategy will ensure that homeowners and businesses’ needs are taken into account, whilst providing comprehensive and sustainable protection from flooding in the area.”
