Police are linking two violent attacks which took place on a Bradford housing estate yesterday.

A 41-year-old man was set upon by a group who got out of two 4x4 type vehicles in the Wenborough Lane area of Holme Wood at about 3.20pm.

Police believe this was a targeted incident and the victim was not seriously injured.

A short time later two men were assaulted as they got out of a private hire vehicle in nearby Kesteven Road.

A 25-year-old man suffered puncture wounds and today remained in hospital in a stable condition where his injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

The second man fled from the scene and was uninjured.

The same group of men is believed to have been involved in both incidents and the main suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, medium build with blond hair. He was also thought to be wearing a light grey hooded top.

Two 4x4 vehicles are believed to have been used in both incidents. One of the vehicles is dark blue in colour and has a distinctive snorkel device fitted, which looks like a plastic chimney which runs from the engine to the roof. The other 4x4 is white in colour and was being driven by a white male, 25-30 years of age and wearing a blue hooded top.

Inspector Andy Addy, of Tong and Wyke Neighbourhood Police Team, said: "We will not tolerate this type of behaviour in our community and we are following a number of positive lines of inquiry.

"These assaults are being investigated as targeted incidents and we have increased patrols in the neighbourhood to provide reassurance to local residents.

"At this stage we have a number of witnesses but I would ask anyone with information to come forward and speak to police."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tong and Wyke NPT via: 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously and in confidence, on 0800 555 111.
