Special Olympics athletes in the district will be invited to a civic reception at Bradford City Hall.
The Lord Mayor of Bradford will host the event to honour the 27-strong Bradford squad’s success in the recent national games.
The athletes, who have learning difficulties, brought back 31 medals from last month’s five-day event in Bath, one of the biggest-ever hauls for a team from Bradford Disability Sports and Leisure (BDSL).
The Lord Mayor, Councillor Khadim Hussain, is supporting BDSL through his appeal this year.
Coun Hussain said the Special Olympics squad had shown that everyone had strengths whatever their disability.
BDSL is holding a fun run this Saturday at Marley Sports Centre, Keighley, to raise money for its activities.
