Illuminations which lit up a glittering Ilkley Summer Festival ‘son et lumiere’ show are now a permanent fixture in a leafy corner of Ilkley.
The town’s three Bradford District ward councillors, Mike Gibbons (Con), Anne Hawkesworth (Ind) and Martin Smith (Con), gave £9,000 of ward spending money to light up Mill Ghyll, which lies between Wells Road and Wells Walk.
The illuminations in the trees, hedges, stream, and across the bridges in Mill Ghyll were central to the recent 1920s-theme son et lumiere, held as part of the summer festival.
Now they are to stay in place as a year-round attraction, to complement the Jubilee lights on in the toen centre, organised by Ilkley parish councillor, Rory Marshall.
