A business owner wants to warn others in Ilkley town centre to be vigilant after a burglar crept into her shop during opening hours.
Amy Thompson, 29, had locked the front door at barbers Harvey and Hock on The Grove on the afternoon of August 21 when she went upstairs.
But when she returned to the salon, she found a portable media player, speakers and tablet computer, worth hundreds of pounds, had been taken. The thief is thought to have crept in through an unlocked back door.
She said: “I was quite upset, especially as I was here on my own, I felt a little vulnerable.”
She was able to trace the stolen device as far as the Shipley area, but it has not been recovered.
West Yorkshire Police visited the scene and confirmed they are investigating the burglary.
