Burley Gardeners’ Association Annual Flower and Produce Show took place at the Queen’s Hall, Burley. The show attracted a total of 97 entrants, an increase of 25 on last year, with a lot of first-time entrants. The youngest was aged just two.

Publicity secretary Bev Plaxton said: “The total number of entries was 346 and, although it was disappointing to see fewer entries in the junior section, there were more entries in the fruit and vegetable classes thanks to the good weather this year. The produce judge commented on the high standard of entries.”
